Actor Kalidas Jayaram, son of renowned Malayalam stars Jayaram and Parvathy, tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Tarini Kalingarayar at the Guruvayur temple on Sunday.
The couple donned matching red traditional attire for the auspicious occasion, surrounded by family, friends, and prominent dignitaries.
A Family Tradition at Guruvayur
The Guruvayur temple holds a special place in the Jayaram family. It was here in 1992 that Kalidas’ parents, Jayaram and Parvathy, exchanged their vows, marking one of Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated unions. Reflecting on this familial connection, Jayaram shared his joy, saying:
“We are truly happy. Just as people gathered to witness our wedding 32 years ago, they came to celebrate our son’s wedding as well. It’s a blessing to have Guruvayoorappan’s grace upon us.”
Earlier in May 2024, Kalidas’ sister Malavika Jayaram also tied the knot with her fiancé Navaneeth Gireesh at the same venue, making it a year of double celebrations for the family.
Star-Studded Ceremony
Among the distinguished attendees were actor-MP Suresh Gopi, Kerala’s Minister for Public Works and Tourism PA Mohammed Riyas, and his wife Veena, the daughter of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The wedding was a blend of cultural traditions and heartfelt moments, with the couple expressing gratitude for the love and blessings showered upon them.
Who Is Tarini Kalingarayar?
A native of Masinagudi in Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris, Tarini Kalingarayar was the third runner-up in Miss Universe India 2021.
A graduate in visual communication, she has made a name for herself as a model, collaborating with various brands.Tarini and Kalidas had been in a long-term relationship before their engagement in November 2023.
Kalidas’ Acting Journey
Kalidas began his acting career as a child artist, featuring in films like Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (2000) and Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum (2003), the latter earning him a National Film Award for Best Child Artist.
After a hiatus, he transitioned to lead roles with notable performances in Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum (2016), Vikram (2022), and Indian 2 (2024), among others.
