The pan-India blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is making waves worldwide, shattering records by crossing ₹500 crore faster than any Indian film.
Among its many highlights is the Hindi voiceover by Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade, who recently revealed his creative process behind dubbing for Allu Arjun’s iconic character, Pushparaj.
Shreyas Talpade’s Unique Dubbing Technique
To capture the grit, swag, and aggression of Pushparaj in Pushpa 2, Shreyas employed an unusual technique—placing cotton in his mouth while recording.
“This time, the character exudes confidence and swagger, as it’s about his rule. Pushpa is often seen chewing tobacco, drinking, or smoking, and the voice needed to reflect that ruggedness,” Shreyas explained in an interview with Telugu123.
The effort paid off, with fans praising the Hindi version for staying true to Allu Arjun’s charismatic performance.
Shreyas noted that he adjusted the voice to highlight Pushpa’s evolving persona—from a rising underdog in Pushpa: The Rise to a commanding ruler in the sequel.
Shreyas Has Never Met Allu Arjun
Interestingly, despite lending his voice to Allu Arjun for two films, Shreyas revealed that he has never met the superstar. Nonetheless, his dedication to the role has created a strong connection with audiences, who eagerly await more from this collaboration.
As Pushpa 2 continues its triumphant run, Shreyas is also gearing up for another dubbing project, Mufasa: The Lion King, set to release soon.
