The sequel picks up exactly where Viduthalai Part 1 concluded. Perumaal Vaathiyaar, played by Vijay Sethupathi, takes charge of a rebellion with the extremist group Makkal Padai (People’s Army), continuing the fight for liberation.

The second chapter offers a candid depiction of social issues and, like its predecessor, dives into powerful themes of oppression, communalism, and institutionalized brutality.

About Viduthalai Part 2

The film, co-written by Vetrimaaran and B. Jeyamohan, is an adaptation of Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan. Initially planned as a single film, Vetrimaaran expanded the narrative into a two-part franchise.

The first part, released last year, earned critical acclaim and collected ₹40 crore at the box office.With legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja helming the music, R Velraj as the cinematographer, and R Ramar as the editor, the sequel promises a cinematic experience on par with its predecessor.
